some movies defy the abilities of anyone to make good judgements based on fully objective observations. this is one. the reason is this film is part of my growing up, a gigantic player in the history of summer blockbusters and thoroughly enjoyable throughout.yes: robin hood is played by an american
yes: the signature theme tune is as cheesey as aging dairylea
yes: many other things... but... bugger me it's brilliant. not least alan rickman who plays the one of the best villains of all time. it's unbridled fun and escapism, and can't be anything but loved.
